Tuxford is older and more rural than most of what we cover, and both of those change the work. The Georgian and Victorian property around the Market Place and Eldon Street has solid walls, deep reveals and no cavity, so flue routes are designed at the survey rather than assumed — and in a centre this visible, external pipework and terminal positions have to look right as well as comply. The post-war housing along Newark Road and Lincoln Road is conventional and mostly open-vented, converting cleanly to sealed systems. The properties out on the lanes need one thing established before anything else: whether they are on the mains gas network at all.
