Boiler servicing in Mansfield & Nottinghamshire
A proper annual service — flue gas analysed, gas rate checked, seals inspected — by Gas Safe engineers, at a fixed price confirmed when you book.
An annual boiler service is the one thing that keeps a manufacturer's warranty valid, and it is also the visit where small faults get caught while they are still cheap. Our Gas Safe engineers service every major make across Mansfield, Sutton-in-Ashfield, Kirkby-in-Ashfield, Worksop and Retford, and you get a written report saying exactly what was checked and what the readings were.
- One fixed price for a standard gas combi, system or regular boiler, confirmed when you book
- Flue gas analysis with a calibrated analyser — not a visual check
- Service record completed for your warranty and, for landlords, your CP12 file
- Same engineers who install and repair, so faults get an honest verdict

Customer reviews

Customer rating 10/10
RPH Home Services did a great job. I can’t fault Dean and his team. We had a new boiler fitted. Highly recommended. Fitted the boiler on a Saturday as they were busy the following week.
Customer rating 10/10
If you are looking for anybody to carry out boiler installation, servicing or central heating work then look no further. RPH were competitive, punctual, professional, clean and tidy. Nothing was rushed and they went to great effort to not only complete our swap from a traditional to a combi boiler, but to do it in a way that made the swap look as good as possible too. Although we got several quotes, they left us feeling confident we made the right decision.
Customer rating 10/10
I was very impressed with David from the day he came to give me a quote. He checked the location of gas pipes to ascertain the complexity of the job — two previous companies had not even mentioned this. On fitting day David and two colleagues arrived at the time advised. They kept me informed of each task and left my property clean and tidy.
Customer rating 10/10
Needed my old boiler and F&E system replacing. David visited and we agreed a new location for the boiler and an extra radiator. On the day of installation David, Dean and crew were very professional, ensuring all carpets and flooring were protected. Very pleased with the work undertaken.

Why an annual service is worth it
Your warranty depends on it
Worcester Bosch, Baxi, Vaillant and Ideal all make their long warranties conditional on a yearly service by a Gas Safe engineer, recorded in the benchmark log. Miss one and a ten-year guarantee can become no guarantee.
Faults caught while they are still cheap
A weeping pump seal, a condensate trap half-blocked with sludge, a fan bearing starting to whine — all cheap to deal with at a service and expensive when they take the boiler down in January.
Combustion checked, not guessed
The flue gas analyser tells us the CO/CO2 ratio the boiler is actually producing. It is the only way to know the burner is safe and running efficiently, and it is the reading a cheap "visual" service skips.
Honest advice on what comes next
Because we install and repair as well as service, we have no reason to talk you into either. If the boiler has years left, we say so. If it is on borrowed time, we tell you before it fails.
What does a boiler service include?
A service takes our engineers around 45 minutes to an hour on a combi, longer on a regular boiler with a cylinder. It is not a look and a wipe. The case comes off, the burner and heat exchanger are inspected, the flue is checked along its full run for joints and termination, and the boiler is run under load while the analyser samples the flue gas. The gas rate is measured at the meter to confirm the appliance is burning what it is rated for, the working and standing gas pressures are tested, and the safety devices — overheat stat, flame supervision, pressure relief valve — are proved to operate. On sealed systems we check the expansion vessel charge, which is the single most common cause of the "pressure keeps dropping" call, and on any system with a magnetic filter we clean it out.
- Flue gas analysis (CO, CO2 and ratio) with a calibrated analyser
- Gas rate and working pressure measured, not assumed
- Burner, heat exchanger, ignition and fan inspected; case seals checked
- Flue run and terminal inspected for integrity and clearance
- Condensate trap and pipe cleared; expansion vessel recharged where needed
- Magnetic filter cleaned and system inhibitor level checked
- Controls, thermostat and timer tested; benchmark log and service report completed

How much does a boiler service cost?
A standard service on a gas combi, system or regular boiler is one fixed price, confirmed when you book. Back boilers and older floor-standing appliances take longer to strip, so tell us the model and we will confirm the price before the visit rather than on the doorstep. If you are a landlord we can complete the CP12 gas safety certificate on the same visit, which saves a second call and puts both documents in your file on the same date each year. Where a service finds a fault, you get a fixed price for the repair before anything is done — the service fee is never a foot in the door for an open-ended bill.
- Gas combi, system or regular boiler service — one fixed price, confirmed when you book
- Back boiler or floor-standing appliance — confirmed when you tell us the model
- Landlord CP12 on the same visit — one call instead of two
- Any repair found is quoted as a fixed price before we start
- First-year service is free on every boiler we install

Do I need a boiler service or a repair?
A service is preventive: the boiler is working and you want it checked and kept that way. If the boiler is locking out, losing pressure daily, showing a fault code or making a noise it did not use to, that is a repair call, and booking a service for it wastes your money — the engineer will have to stop and quote anyway. The two do overlap in one useful way. A service often finds the early version of a fault, and you can have it fixed there and then at a fixed price rather than paying a separate callout when it fails.
- Working normally, due its annual check — book a service
- Fault code, lockouts, no hot water, pressure dropping daily — book a repair
- Not sure — call us and we will tell you which, honestly

Which boiler makes do you service?
Worcester Bosch, Baxi, Vaillant, Ideal, Glow-worm, Viessmann, Potterton, Main and Navien are the bulk of what is on the wall across Nottinghamshire, and we service all of them, along with the older Ravenheat, Ferroli and Alpha appliances still running in a fair number of Mansfield and Sutton homes. We are Worcester Bosch and Baxi accredited installers, which matters for servicing because we carry their common service parts on the van and know the benchmark requirements that keep those warranties intact.
- Worcester Bosch, Baxi and Vaillant — accredited or approved
- Ideal, Glow-worm, Viessmann, Potterton, Main, Navien
- Older Ravenheat, Ferroli, Alpha and back boilers still in service
When should I book a boiler service, and where do you cover?
Once a year is the requirement, and September to November is the sensible time — before the heating comes on properly, and before the winter breakdown queue. New occupiers should book one regardless of what the seller said, and any boiler that has had major work on the system around it deserves a check. We run servicing rounds through Mansfield, Mansfield Woodhouse, Sutton-in-Ashfield, Kirkby-in-Ashfield, Rainworth, Warsop, Shirebrook and Edwinstowe most weeks, and cover Worksop, Retford, Tuxford, Hucknall, Beeston and the Nottingham suburbs on scheduled days, so a service in any of them carries no travel charge.
- Annually — and the manufacturer's warranty will say within 12 months of the last one
- Autumn, before the first cold snap
- On moving into a property, whatever the previous owner told you
- After a power flush, radiator changes or other major heating work
