Warsop asks for three different installations depending on which part of it you are in. The older stone and brick property around Church Street and the church was built before the colliery and has solid walls, deep reveals and no cavity, so the flue route has to be designed at the survey rather than discovered on the day — and the boiler quite often ends up somewhere other than where the old one hung. The terraces and semis built for Warsop Main are early twentieth century and still turn up legacy appliances, along with gas runs that have been extended piecemeal over the decades and need checking against a modern appliance's rate. Meden Vale and Warsop Vale are post-war, built to a pattern, and mostly open-vented with a cylinder in the airing cupboard and tanks in the loft — the cleanest conversions we do anywhere.
What makes a Warsop installation different
Solid stone walls with no cavity
Around Church Street and the church the walls are genuinely solid, and there is no cavity to core a flue through in the obvious place. That constrains where an appliance can go far more than the room layout does. We establish a viable terminal position at the survey, taking in boundary distances and openings, and price the re-site properly rather than treating it as an extra.
Ground falling towards the Meden
The land drops away towards the river across much of the town, which matters for condensate. A condensate run needs a continuous fall to a suitable termination, and on a sloping plot the obvious route is sometimes the wrong one. Getting this right at the survey avoids the classic winter callout of a frozen or backed-up condensate.
Gas supplies extended rather than renewed
A century of conversions in the colliery housing leaves gas runs that were adequate for a much smaller appliance. Hanging a modern combi on the end of an undersized supply produces an appliance that never performs and a customer who blames the boiler. We check the run and upgrade it where the rate demands it.

Jobs we do most often in Warsop
Church Street — appliance re-sited for a viable flue
Stone property where no compliant flue route existed at the original boiler position. The appliance was moved to an internal wall, the flue routed to a suitable terminal and the old opening made good in matching materials.
Meden Vale — open-vented conversion
Post-war semi converted to a sealed system. Cylinder and loft tanks removed, radiators power flushed, magnetic filter and smart controls fitted, and the airing cupboard freed up.
Burns Lane — colliery terrace with an upgraded gas run
Legacy appliance removed and replaced with an A-rated combi, with the gas supply upgraded to meet the new rate and the flue terminated clear of the neighbouring boundary.
