For a town this size Warsop packs in an unusual amount of variety, and a leak here means something different in each part of it. The stone and brick property around Church Street and the church predates the colliery and has solid walls with no cavity, so water from a failed pipe inside one travels through the masonry and shows up lower down, often on a different face. The terraces built for Warsop Main have suspended timber floors carrying pipework that has been extended piecemeal for a century, where the failures sit at the joints between one era and the next. And Meden Vale and Warsop Vale are post-war, built in volume with the heating circuit cast into solid floors, silent until the pressure gauge tells you. Fifteen minutes from the office means we can be there the same day to work out which of the three you have.
Why leaks in Warsop hide where they do
Solid walls in the older centre
Around Church Street the walls are solid and absorbent, so a leak inside one does not surface where it is. Water moves down through the fabric and emerges at a bed joint or the base of the wall, which is why opening up at the stain reliably finds intact pipe. Imaging the wall gives us the moisture path to work back along.
Layered pipework under the colliery terraces
The terraces have had heating added and altered repeatedly, so what runs under the boards is several systems joined together. The joints between them are where the leaks are, and knowing that is the difference between lifting one board and lifting a room.
Buried heating circuits at Meden Vale and Warsop Vale
The post-war estates were laid with the heating pipework in the floor slab. A weep there shows as falling system pressure and a dry discharge pipe outside, with a faint warm line across the floor above. Thermal imaging reads that line straight through carpet or tile.

Leaks we trace most often in Warsop
Church Street — leak inside a solid wall
Damp spreading at low level on a stone property with no plumbing nearby. Imaging showed the water entering higher up and tracking down through the wall; the pipe was accessed at the fault and the lower masonry left alone.
Burns Lane — failed joint under a suspended floor
A colliery terrace with damp appearing in an adjoining room. The run was traced under the boards to the junction between original and later pipework, and the joint replaced through one opening.
Meden Vale — buried heating circuit under a solid floor
A property needing repressurising every week or so with the outside discharge dry. Thermal imaging picked out the circuit under the hall, the failed section was replaced through one opening and the floor reinstated.
