Worksop is half an hour north of our base, and that distance shapes how we approach a leak here rather than whether we come. A short exploratory visit followed by another and another is no use to anybody at this range, so we bring the tracing equipment to the first appointment and aim to leave knowing where the fault is and what the repair costs. The town gives us plenty to work with. The Victorian and Edwardian property around the Priory and the town centre has solid walls with no cavity, and that changes everything about how a leak presents — water absorbed into solid masonry travels down and sideways through the fabric, so the stain can appear on the wrong face of a wall entirely, and always below where it started. Manton and Kilton were built for the colliery and extended after the war, with heating circuits set into solid floors. Gateford is modern, where plastic pipework fails at fittings rather than along runs.
Why leaks in Worksop hide where they do
Solid walls that hide the damage and move the evidence
Victorian construction around the Priory has no cavity, so water from a failed pipe inside a wall moves through the masonry rather than showing on a surface. By the time a stain appears the leak has usually been running for months, and the wet area is below and often around the corner from the fault. Thermal imaging reads the moisture pattern in the wall and gives a direction to work back in.
Buried heating circuits at Manton and Kilton
The colliery housing and the post-war estates that followed it were built with the heating pipework in the floor slab. A pinhole drains system pressure quietly for months without ever producing water you can see. It is the single most common domestic leak we attend on this side of Worksop and among the most accurately locatable.
One visit, not three
At half an hour out, a diagnostic trip followed by a parts trip followed by a repair trip is a bad deal for everyone. We come equipped to trace, prove and where possible repair in the same appointment, and we tell you the fixed price for the repair before starting it.

Leaks we trace most often in Worksop
Near the Priory — leak traced through a solid wall
A period property with damp spreading across a ground-floor wall and no obvious source. Thermal imaging showed the moisture tracking down from a failed joint well above the visible staining; one section was opened at the right height and the pipe replaced.
Manton — pressure loss on a buried circuit
A colliery-era property needing repressurising weekly with a dry discharge outside. The buried run was traced under the ground floor, the failure located and replaced through a single opening.
Gateford — failed fitting on modern pipework
A newer estate property with a slow ceiling stain. The plastic runs above were isolated and tested, the failing push-fit connection identified and replaced without disturbing the rest of the ceiling.
